So I've been terrible at keeping this up with all of my post-graduation adventures, as I promised I would...but these posts are really just a dry run for when I am in Africa, so I figure that playing a little catch up now isn't really the end of the world!
I spend May 18 - May 30 in Australia...as a graduation trip to myself. I had an absolutely wonderful time...here are some of the highlights, in no particular order:
1. Seeing my friend Emily, who I studied abroad with in England as an undergrad
2. Petting kangaroos
3. Sitting on the Notting Hill Bench
4. Harbor Cruise - gorgeous view of Sydney and also met a wonderful couple (Audrey and Gil) from Washington state
5. Running in Hyde Park/Royal Botanical Gardens
A few observations about Australia...
1. VERY laid back
2. TV, Radio, Movies - all the same as what we watch/listen to in America
3. Food there is gourment...even a simple coffeeshop or cafe (translation - Yum!)
4. Bare feet are seeminglt acceptable to much of the population
5. "Pumpkin" actually means squash
